5 Best Nudist Hotels in Zipolite in 2024
Where to stay – For the most luxurious beachfront option, El Alquimista is nudist-friendly and also very popular with the LGBTQ+ community.
El Alquimista has an amazing restaurant, relaxing spa by the pool, gift shop featuring gay-owned Mexoni beach towels, and a variety of room types. One of the coolest options they offer is a cabana directly on the beach where you can walk out for a naked swim in the ocean whenever you want.
We also love the Superior Rooms at El Alquimista which offer incredible ocean views. They are spacious and come equipped with plenty of seating areas and desks in case you are working remotely. The hotel also uses Starlink as an internet provider, and we can confirm the hotel has some of the best if not the best—if not the best—WiFi in Zipolite!
Also on the west side of Playa Zipolite just steps from El Alquimista and town, you’ll find Hotel Nude and Hotel Naked located right next to each other. Both nudist hotels are excellent choices with great restaurants and beach/pool bars. In addition, they have both made major improvements since the last hurricane when both hotels were destroyed.
Perhaps the most gorgeous addition on the entire beach, Hotel Nude added a beachside pool in addition to their more private interior pool. We love coming here for lunch or afternoon margaritas and a skinny dip in the pool, ocean, or both!
In terms of room choices, you can opt for interior basic and standard poolside rooms or their luxurious junior and superior ocean facing balcony rooms. The superior rooms come with their own plunge pool which only adds to the sexy vibe here.
Hotel Naked is another solid choice for a nudist hotel on Playa Zipolite. It also has one of our favorite restaurants and beach clubs in town. It's also pet-friendly which we love, and their bar serves up some seriously delicious cocktails. They also regularly promote their nudist beach club to the public with day passes, so if you are looking to enjoy some beach time on luxurious loungers with umbrellas, Hotel Naked is a must! In terms of rooms, they have interior poolside or luxurious ocean facing balcony rooms and suites.
For a more secluded, intimate space to be naked than the busy main beach, head up the hill on the far west side of Zipolite to the adults-only Villa Aikia. They have a beautiful, clothing optional tiled pool overlooking the ocean and Roca Blanca, the famous white rock just offshore. The restaurant is amazing and you can drink naked in the pool if you wish. There are no judgments here, and everyone is very relaxed. On that note, this hotel is popular with both straight and gay clientele. Just below the hotel you will find the small nudist-friendly Playa Camarón. On many occasions, we find ourselves the only ones here which makes for an especially romantic experience.
For a true splurge, book the Presidential Suite with its private terrace with extraordinary views and plunge pool, full living room, kitchen, king-bed on the upper level, and not one but two bathrooms! Of course, they also have standard rooms which would make us more than happy! We're going to spend most of our time naked in the pool anyways!
If you are looking for an exclusively gay hotel, then look no further than Casa Nudista. It’s the best gay hotel in Zipolite and a great place to meet people. They offer a number of room options from suites to shared dorms to glamping. Please note nudity is required (hence the name)! In addition, they offer a day pass to enjoy the pool and bar and the weekly gay naked pool party on Saturdays from 3-8pm is an absolute blast and not to be missed! Access to the facilities costs 150-250 pesos depending on the day and/or party but comes with two beers or a cocktail.
Glamping is the latest addition to room options at Casa Nudista. Both units have air conditioning, an outdoor shared double shower (how sexy is this!?) and separate bathroom as well.
Although it is not a nudist hotel, as a bonus, we do love and highly recommend Casa KalMar, where two of our friends have stayed while visiting us when we lived in Zipolite off and on for a number of months. The view from the infinity pool is absolutely jaw dropping. For nudists, you can simply pop down the hill to Playa Zipolite or to the more intimate Playa Camarón.
In terms of rooms, Casa KalMar offers modern Double Rooms with king beds as well as Junior and Superior Suites, all with partial to full ocean views. Each of the rooms have a name with artistry by the owner's mother. We love the added personal touch, and you can feel it here in every detail. We are also big fans of the extensive honor bar when enjoying the pool area. On our visit, we had the pool all to ourselves. Overall, Casa KalMar is the smallest and most intimate of the hotels on this list with warm and friendly service.

Hi gorgeous, and welcome to our LGBTQ+ travel blog! We're Andy and Trai, a gay couple traveling the world with PRIDE 🌈 …and our rescue dog, Pattie!
After meeting in San Francisco in 2018 and later moving to Chicago, we decided to quit our jobs in 2021, sell everything, and become Two Gay Expats.
