Location

One of the biggest advantages of staying at The Brass Key is its location.

Situated on historic Bradford Street, you're within walking distance of nearly everything Provincetown has to offer.

Some nearby highlights include:

  • Tea Dance at Boatslip
  • A-House Nightclub
  • Commercial Street shopping and restaurants
  • MacMillan Pier
  • Pilgrim Monument
  • Provincetown Harbor
  • Boy Beach Bike Racks

We especially loved being able to borrow complimentary bikes and ride to Boy Beach in about ten minutes.

Once you arrive in Provincetown, you can easily leave the car behind and explore on foot or by bike.

Amenities

From the street, The Brass Key looks like a charming New England guesthouse.

Once you step inside, however, you'll discover a surprisingly expansive gated compound filled with gardens, courtyards, and multiple historic buildings.

Heated Infinity Pool

The centerpiece of the property is the heated infinity pool.

We visited early one morning after a quick rain shower and had the entire pool area to ourselves. With the sun reflecting off the water and the gardens surrounding the property, it felt incredibly peaceful.

Large Outdoor Hot Tub

Adjacent to the pool is one of the largest hot tubs we've found at a gay resort.

It's especially popular in the evenings when guests gather to socialize before heading out to Provincetown's bars and clubs.

Complimentary Bikes

One of our favorite perks is the complimentary bicycle program.

Not only does it make exploring Provincetown easy, but it's also the perfect way to reach Boy Beach without dealing with parking or long walks.

Hospitality

The staff deserves special recognition.

Everyone we encountered—from the front desk team to breakfast attendants—genuinely seemed invested in making our stay exceptional.

Need restaurant recommendations? Beach tips? Nightlife suggestions?

They've got you covered.

For our stay, we booked Room 157, a Deluxe King Room located in the Queen Anne House.

  • King-size four-poster bed
  • Sitting area for two
  • Mini-fridge
  • Keurig coffee maker
  • Large dresser
  • Closet with robes and safe
  • Iron and ironing board
  • Strong Wi-Fi
  • Flat-screen TV

The nautical-inspired design feels perfectly suited to Provincetown while remaining elegant and comfortable.

Bathroom

The bathroom was another standout.

Bright, modern, and spacious, it featured one of the best showers we've experienced during our travels through New England.

It's the type of room you genuinely look forward to returning to after a day at the beach.

Food & Drink

The Brass Key does an excellent job keeping guests fed, caffeinated, and hydrated throughout the day.

Daily Breakfast

Served in Roomer's Cafe, breakfast is included with every stay.

During our visit, offerings included:

  • Fresh fruit
  • Cranberry muffins
  • Pastries
  • Coffee
  • Juice
  • Hot breakfast selections

Everything was fresh, well-presented, and exactly what we wanted before heading out to explore Provincetown.

Complimentary Coffee

Coffee lovers will appreciate the complimentary gourmet coffee available throughout the day.

As frequent coffee drinkers ourselves, we definitely took advantage of this perk.

Wine & Cheese Happy Hour

Each evening from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, guests are invited to enjoy:

  • Wine
  • Cheese
  • Crudités

It's a fantastic opportunity to meet fellow travelers before heading out for the night.

Shipwreck Lounge

Located onsite, Shipwreck Lounge has become known as Provincetown's living room.

The atmosphere is relaxed and social, making it one of our favorite places to enjoy a cocktail before dinner or nightlife.

The bartenders are friendly, the drinks are excellent, and the crowd is always welcoming.

How to Get to Provincetown

Most travelers arrive via Boston.

Fly into Boston Logan Airport (BOS)

From Boston, you have several options:

  • Drive
  • Bus
  • Cape Air flight
  • High-speed ferry

Our Favorite Option: Ferry

Our preferred choice is the Bay State Cruise Company ferry departing from Boston's Seaport District.

Travel time is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes.

The ferry drops passengers directly at MacMillan Pier in the center of Provincetown.

As an added bonus, you'll pass Boy Beach and get fantastic views of Provincetown Harbor during the journey.

There's even a convenient water taxi shuttle service available from Provincetown back to Logan Airport on departure day.

  • Complimentary breakfast
  • Wine & cheese reception
  • Beautiful accommodations
  • Exceptional staff

...it delivers everything most travelers are looking for in a Provincetown getaway.

While Provincetown certainly isn't the cheapest destination in the United States, The Brass Key provides an experience that feels worthy of the splurge.
