Boy Beach: Provincetown’s Best Gay Nude Beach (2026)

Boy Beach Entrance
Remote, scenic, and famously cruisy, Boy Beach is Provincetown’s most iconic gay nude beach — a rite of passage for many LGBTQ+ travelers visiting Cape Cod. Tucked beyond dunes and marshland just outside town, this clothing-optional stretch delivers freedom, flirtation, and jaw-dropping views back toward Provincetown.

It takes effort to get here, but those who make the trek are rewarded with one of the most memorable gay beach experiences in the U.S.

What Makes Boy Beach So Special?

Boy Beach sits at the intersection of nature and queer history.

What sets it apart:

  • Secluded, unofficially nude beach with a long gay legacy
  • Surrounded by untouched dunes and wetlands
  • Social, playful atmosphere with a cruisy edge
  • Panoramic views back toward Provincetown
  • A “you made it” feeling the moment you arrive

Nudity isn’t technically legal here, but the remoteness gives most guys the confidence to sun and swim freely — just read the room and follow the vibe.

How to Get to Boy Beach (Timing Matters!)

Getting to Boy Beach is all about distance + tides.

From Provincetown:

  • Bike: 10–15 minutes to the bike racks
  • Walk: 25–30 minutes to the bike racks
  • Then an additional 15–20 minutes across marshland (low tide only)

LOW TIDE IS ESSENTIAL
At high tide, the marsh crossing can be muddy, flooded, or impassable.

Once you reach the bike racks, follow the visible path across the wetlands and over a small rise. The beach opens up suddenly, and you’ll know you’re in the right place.

🌟 Pro tip – Check tide charts before you leave town — this is the single most important planning step.

What's the Vibe?

Boy Beach is overwhelmingly gay — but the action concentrates:

  • Along the central stretch of sand
  • Near the dunes behind the beach, where discreet trails form naturally

Expect movement, social wandering, and a cruisy energy that builds as the day warms up.

Some guys sun by the water, others head into the dunes, and many do both. It’s the kind of place where conversation starts easily — and plans change quickly.
