Elia Beach: The Best Gay Nude Beach in Mykonos (2026)

Elia Beach is one of the longest and most beautiful beaches in Mykonos, known for its upscale vibe, calm turquoise water, and relaxed energy. While the main beach is mixed and stylish, the magic for gay travelers happens just to the right of the main taverna, beyond the rocks.

That’s where you’ll find the gay nude section — and once you know where to go, it’s unmistakable. Look for the cluster of confident, sun-kissed men and the distinct “you’re in the right place” energy.

Clothing is optional here, and most guys fully embrace it.

What Makes Elia Beach So Special?

Elia hits that perfect Mykonos balance:

  • Sexy, but not chaotic
  • Social, but not too cruisy
  • Nude-friendly, but still polished

The crowd is international and diverse — couples, solo travelers, groups of friends — all there for the same thing: sun, sea, and a little shared freedom.

The water is incredibly clear and calm, making it perfect for cooling off with a skinny dip before heading back to your lounger. And speaking of loungers…

Beach Services & Amenities

One of the things we love most about Elia Beach is how easy and comfortable it makes a full beach day.

You’ll find:

  • Plush sun loungers and umbrellas
  • Drink and food menus delivered to your chair
  • Call buttons to order cocktails (yes, really)
  • Outdoor showers near the taverna
  • A full-service restaurant for lunch or a late afternoon bite

It’s the kind of place where you arrive mid-morning… and suddenly it’s golden hour.

🌟 Pro tip – Bring water shoes or sandals. The rocks leading to the gay nudist section are manageable but much more comfortable with footwear.

How to Get to Elia Beach

Getting to Elia is much easier these days than it used to be.

Back in the day, we remember taking a bus and a boat hopping between beaches just to get here. Now, you have options:

  • Taxi or rideshare: Easy from Mykonos Town
  • Rental car or ATV: Popular and flexible
  • Boat excursion: Some tours stop directly at Elia

Once you arrive at the main beach and taverna, simply walk to the right over the rocks to reach the gay nude section.

When to Go

Elia Beach is best enjoyed during:

  • Late May to September for peak beach weather
  • June and September for the best balance of crowds and comfort
  • Midday to late afternoon when the gay section is most social

Mornings are quieter and great for relaxing. As the day goes on, the vibe becomes more social — without ever tipping into chaos.

What to Bring

To make the most of your Elia Beach day, we recommend packing:

  • Sandals or water shoes
  • Sunscreen (lots of it — Greek sun is strong)
  • Sunglasses and a hat
  • Cash or card for drinks and food
  • A towel or sarong (or not)

And of course, your best Mykonos confidence.

Where to Stay in Mykonos (Our Picks)

Choosing the right hotel in Mykonos makes a huge difference — especially if beach days are your priority. These are our top two recommendations.

Rochari Mykonos (Where We Stay)

Rochari Mykonos is our personal favorite and where we stay when visiting the island.

Located near Mykonos Town, it offers:

  • Stylish, modern rooms
  • Incredible sunset views
  • Easy access to beaches and nightlife
  • A relaxed, gay-friendly atmosphere

It’s the perfect base if you want to balance beach days at Elia with nights out in town.
Axel Mykonos (New & Stunning)

Axel Mykonos is one of the most exciting new gay hotel openings on the island — and it’s absolutely stunning.

Expect:

  • Sleek, design-forward spaces
  • Strong LGBTQ+ focus
  • Social energy without being overwhelming
  • The signature Axel Hotel vibe in a Mykonos setting

If you’re looking for something fresh, stylish, and unmistakably gay, Axel Mykonos delivers.

Final Thoughts

Elia Beach isn’t just the best gay nude beach in Mykonos — it’s one of the best gay beach experiences in Europe.

Between the scenery, the comfort, the crowd, and that unmistakable Mykonos energy, it’s a place that stays with you long after the sun sets. Whether it’s your first visit or your return after twenty years, Elia still knows how to deliver.
