We booked dinner at Vale de Abraão — beet and strawberry salad, chicken peri peri, roasted vegetables, chocolate mousse with hazelnuts, freshly baked sourdough, olive oil, and aged balsamic. As the moon rose over the vineyard terraces… perfection. Even if you don’t stay here, dinner is worth the trip.

Wine Tasting at Quinta do Tedo – Located where the Tedo and Douro rivers meet, this charming winery is warm, inviting, and surrounded by olive trees. We loved the Premium Douro Tasting — smooth reserve wines that even port skeptics will enjoy.
Tour + Tasting at Quinta de la Rosa – A deep dive into the winemaking process with tanks, barrel rooms, and aging cellars. End with rosé, red, tawny, and reserve port tastings overlooking the valley.
Miradouro Casal de Loivos – One of the best viewpoints in all of Portugal. You can see wineries, river bends, and hillside terraces all in one breathtaking panorama.
Pipadouro Vintage Boat Cruise – A highlight of our trip. We boarded the stunning 1965 Pipadouro II and had the entire boat to ourselves. Captain Gee cruised us along untouched stretches of the river — romantic, peaceful, and iconic.
