Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned visitor, this guide will cover everything you need to know to make the most of your trip to one of the world’s most iconic clothing-optional beaches.
How to Get to Haulover Beach?
Located about 20–30 minutes north of South Beach at 10800 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL, getting to Haulover Beach is easy, no matter where you’re staying in Miami:
- By car – Haulover Park has numerous parking lots with plenty of spaces. Open daily from 8AM to 1-hour before sunset, parking fees range from $7 on weekdays to $10 on weekends. Arrive early, especially on busy holiday weekends to snag a spot!
- By rideshare – Services like Uber and Lyft will get you there for around $20 one way.
- By bus – Budget-conscious? The local bus costs just $2.25 and conveniently drops you near the park entrance. Check Google Maps for current times.
Where to Find the Gay Section?
The gay section of Haulover Beach is easy to find and even easier to love. Head to the northern end of the clothing-optional area, between lifeguard towers #15 and #16. Look for the rainbow flags, vibrant energy, and friendly faces. It’s a social hotspot where you’ll find a mix of locals and visitors enjoying the sun and surf together.
Beach Services and Amenities
Haulover Beach has all the essentials to make your beach day stress-free:
- Umbrella and Chair Rentals – No gear? No problem. Umbrella and sun lounger rentals are available, with staff happy to set you up in a comfy spot.
- Showers and Restrooms – Cool off and rinse off at the outdoor showers by Tower #15, or head to the yellow and green facilities along the bike path near Towers #13 and #15 for restrooms and additional showers.
Where to Eat and Drink?
Beach days are better with good food, and Haulover has you covered:
- B&B Haulover Beach Cafe– Located near Tower #13, this food truck serves delicious grilled chicken sandwiches, quesadillas, tacos, and more. It’s the perfect pit stop for refueling between sunbathing sessions.
For those who want a more substantial meal or drinks after the beach, head back into Miami for some incredible dining options in South Beach or nearby neighborhoods.
Travel Tips for First-Timers
Before we wrap up, here are a few quick travel tips for your Haulover Beach visit:
- Arrive early – To secure a good spot, it's best to arrive before 11AM, especially on weekends and during peak season.
- Bring water and snacks – Stay hydrated and keep some light snacks on hand for a midday energy boost.
- Sunscreen is a must – Miami’s sun is no joke. Pack plenty of sunscreen and reapply often to avoid burns.

Travel Resources
Travel Insurance – Don’t forget to add global travel medical insurance that covers you while traveling outside of your home country. We recommend and use Safety Wing. They offer plans for travelers, digital nomads and expats. If you're already abroad, no worries. Safety Wing makes it easy to purchase insurance even if you are already abroad.
Most health coverage in the U.S. or your home country, for example, does not cover you outside of the U.S. or your home country. As such, it’s extremely important to protect yourself from out-of-pocket costs due to a medical emergency. We learned this the hard way which you can watch on YouTube: Our First Trip to the Emergency Room in Mexico. To learn more about Safety Wing, check rates and availability.
Car Rental – Should your travel plans call for hiring a car, we use rentalcars.com to search the best prices among the major car rental companies. With flexible rentals, no hidden fees, and price match guarantee, we feel confident booking with them. Just make sure to book with your Chase Sapphire Reserve for extra protection like primary car rental insurance.
