No trip to Mykonos is complete without a visit to Elia Beach, one of the best gay beaches in the world. Read on and we’ll highlight where to eat, drink and be MARY! And of course, how to get to the secluded gay beach to swim in your birthday suit!

On arrival at Elia, you will easily find the main taverna on the beach, and it’s complete with a gift shop, facilities, showers, and of course, a restaurant.

Heading out to the beach, you will find loungers with menus and even call buttons for you to order a beverage or lunch. This was a perfect stop before making our way down to the gay section.

To find the gay section, head to the right if you are looking at the water from the taverna. It’s also marked with a giant rainbow flag! There are many loungers for rent on this section of the beach as well.

If you’re keen to swim or sunbathe naked, simply climb over the rocks past the gay section to find the small gay nude beach. Shoes are helpful, but we managed without. We loved the privacy to strip down and enjoy a skinny dip in the refreshing, crystal clear sea.

For even more incredible experiences around Mykonos, check out some awesome guided tours powered by Get Your Guide. We love booking with them when organizing transportation among ‘must see’ destinations becomes a hassle. Get Your Guide is easy to use and book with, and we’ve had some of our best adventures with them. In Mykonos, why not head over to the ancient island of Delos on a day trip? It is definitely one our favorite adventures when in Mykonos!

Hi! We're Two Gay Expats

Hi gorgeous, and welcome to our LGBTQ+ travel blog! We're Andy and Trai, a gay couple traveling the world with PRIDE 🌈  …and our rescue dog, Pattie!

After meeting in San Francisco in 2018 and later moving to Chicago, we decided to quit our jobs in 2021, sell everything, and become Two Gay Expats. For over two years, we explored the best of gay Mexico while waiting for our house, Casa Cangrejo, to be completed in Tulum. We got married at The Beach Tulum in 2020 and became Mexican permanent residents in 2022.

Today, we continue to travel around Mexico and the world to show you our favorite places. If you'd like to follow our adventures, subscribe on YouTube and join us on Instagram.
