From laid-back gay bars serving up stiff drinks to flamboyant drag shows, Barcelona's gay nightlife in the Eixample neighborhood caters to every flavor of queer culture. Whether you're seeking a cozy hangout for mingling, an action-packed cruise bar, or simply a front-row seat to some of Europe's most dazzling LGBTQ+ entertainment, this dynamic gayborhood has you covered.

Priscilla Cafe BCN

For your first drink in gay Eixample or Gaixample as the locals call it, we recommend Priscilla Cafe. This sequin soaked bar pays homage to Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, the iconic drag queen road trip movie. With a friendly atmosphere and fun cocktails, Priscilla serves up a campy experience that will have you feeling fierce, fabulous, and freakishly entertained. It’s also one of the few gay bars open early, so it’s a great spot to meet friends or new friends for an afternoon drink.

La Chapelle
La Chapelle

For perhaps the best happy hour bar in Barcelona, La Chapelle is another must visit. We absolutely love their massive Negronis and refreshing mojitos. With delicious cocktails, great prices, and heavy pours, you're sure to have a religious experience. La Chapelle is known for its unique decor including walls covered in crucifixes.

Titanic Bar

Taking inspiration from the legendary ship, Titanic offers a quirky and nautical-themed experience. The wine and cocktails list is quite extensive, but they also have cold beer served in glass—always a nice touch with bottles—if you're pacing yourself for a late night! We also notice that at some of the smaller bars, once it's full, the bartender will turn away customers until space is available. This is one of those bars.

Moeem Barcelona

Moeem Barcelona is an upbeat gay bar with energy. The sexy crowd dances to DJs playing the latest pop music while sipping on the affordable cocktails Moeem is known for. There's also no cover and plenty of events throughout the week to keep you entertained.

Strass
Strass

Strass is the 'go to' destination for drag in Barcelona. With electrifying shows and some hilarious queens, this gay hotspot promises an unforgettable night filled with laughter and high energy entertainment. You’ll also find a lively, friendly and diverse crowd here. In addition to drag shows, they have special events like bingo throughout the week. Be sure to check their social media for more info.

Boys Bar BCN

For the popular shirtless hunky gay men bar, don't miss Boys Bar BCN. Their promo really sums it up best: "Boys Bar BCN offers a totally different kind of party with fun, strippers, cute guys, darkroom, and house music all waiting for you here!" Solo faltas tú: only you are missing. Ok, so we added that last line, but it's our favorite neon sign in the bar!

Night Barcelona
Night Barcelona

From the creators of Boyberry, Night is perhaps Barcelona’s most legendary cruise bar. And it has an actual bar and social space in the front with a dark room in the back. Draft beers are super inexpensive and there's no cover, so it gets extremely busy on the weekends. The 'top' and 'bottom' coasters at the long bar on entry are a nice touch. The bar team are also super friendly and helpful.

Most health coverage in the U.S. or your home country, for example, does not cover you outside of the U.S. or your home country. As such, it’s extremely important to protect yourself from out-of-pocket costs due to a medical emergency. We learned this the hard way which you can watch on YouTube: Our First Trip to the Emergency Room in Mexico. To learn more about Safety Wing, check rates and availability.

Hi! We're Two Gay Expats

Hi gorgeous, and welcome to our LGBTQ+ travel blog! We're Andy and Trai, a gay couple traveling the world with PRIDE 🌈  …and our rescue dog, Pattie!

After meeting in San Francisco in 2018 and later moving to Chicago, we decided to quit our jobs in 2021, sell everything, and become Two Gay Expats. For over two years, we explored the best of gay Mexico while waiting for our house, Casa Cangrejo, to be completed in Tulum. We got married at The Beach Tulum in 2020 and became Mexican permanent residents in 2022.

Today, we continue to travel around Mexico and the world to show you our favorite places. If you'd like to follow our adventures, subscribe on YouTube and join us on Instagram.
