Many of Mexico City's best gay bars and clubs are located in and around the Zona Rosa. Head to Calle Amberes, perhaps the gayest street in Mexico, where you'll find dozens of gay bars, including famed Kinky Bar and gay popular hotel Amberes 64. It's the epicenter of gay Mexico City.
For a deep dive into the best gay bars and clubs in Mexico City, join us as we take you to all of our favorites in this YouTube video. We highlight Mexico City's gay nightlife in addition to some of the city's best cocktail bars. In addition, we give you a tour of our rooms at both Amberes 64 and Casa Comtesse. For our first night out in Gay Mexico City, we always begin our trip at Tom’s Leather Bar. If you’ve been to an Eagle, it’s a similar vibe although we find the crowd a bit more button down than fetish gear in Mexico City. The atmosphere feels like a gothic church turned gay club, and the entrance fee of 280 pesos each or about $16 USD comes with 2-5 beers depending on your arrival time. We also love the little napkins the bartenders wrap around your beer. In addition, cover includes live entertainment by maybe a half dozen dancers on three bars throughout the night. And they take it all off. It’s really quite impressive. The music is great and not too loud like some places in Mexico. There’s also a dark room in the back downstairs and a smoking room in the upstairs room by the entrance. Weekends are popular as is Tuesday night which is packed and not to be missed.

To begin any night out, there's a new gay venue in Mexico City called Revuelta Queer House. Open for just about 6 months now our fantastic server Max tells us, this LGBTQ+ safe space is located in a historic home in the gay popular Roma neighborhood. Before heading up to the fabulous and spacious rooftop garden and bar for a drink, be sure to check out the art gallery in the various rooms on the first level. You’ll also find a coffee shop, boutique, and even a DJ spinning on this level. As we enjoy our Negronis, we realize this is one of the few places you can go to hear laughter all around you—literally at every table. It’s so refreshing. We’re huge fans! After sunset, it definitely gets packed, so we’re glad we came early.

Very close to the Angel of Independence monument and located at 1 Calle Amberes, head upstairs to famed Kinky Bar. This gay bar and club is great for dancing and socializing. The vibe is relatively upscale as are the prices, but entertainers and crowd are high energy. Cover on the weekend is 150 pesos which is approximately $9 USD.

For another popular gay bar, Nicho Bears and Bar attracts men of all colors, shapes, and sizes. It's super diverse. After an 80-peso cover which is about $5 USD, we grab some beers at the bar. We love the kitschy decor and the bedazzled bear disco ball. The DJ is also playing some amazing music with some local sing along tunes that everyone seems to know. We also notice many locals are purchasing buckets of beers which we’ve learned in our travels always represents the best value in Mexico.

At Blow Bar, we note the crowd is significantly younger than anywhere we’ve taken you so far. Also, there are a lot more straight girls here for the strip show, but nevertheless, we’re again loving the high energy vibe. The crowd spills onto the dance floor in between shows and there’s even another massive floor with an outdoor terrace upstairs. And of course more entertainment. We’ve never seen security detail like this for gogo dancers before, but people go crazy for them here. After midnight, it's shoulder to shoulder. Blow Bar is clearly the largest and most popular of the gay clubs we've been to in Mexico City. Entrance is again 150 pesos and cash only. We’re also huge fans of the price list for drinks displayed on signs above the bars and around the club for transparency.

Hi! We're Two Gay Expats

Hi gorgeous, and welcome to our LGBTQ+ travel blog! We're Andy and Trai, a gay couple traveling the world with PRIDE 🌈  …and our rescue dog, Pattie!

After meeting in San Francisco in 2018 and later moving to Chicago, we decided to quit our jobs in 2021, sell everything, and become Two Gay Expats. For over two years, we explored the best of gay Mexico while waiting for our house, Casa Cangrejo, to be completed in Tulum. We got married at The Beach Tulum in 2020 and became Mexican permanent residents in 2022.

Today, we continue to travel around Mexico and the world to show you our favorite places. If you'd like to follow our adventures, subscribe on YouTube and join us on Instagram.
